Malaysian applying for China Visa (to travel in China) in Singapore
Fees for single entrance with normal collection period (4 working days) is SGD110.
Document Checklist:
- Original Passport
- Visa application form (can download from: http://www.visaforchina.org/SGP_EN/upload/Attach/mrbj/275102.pdf)
- 1 x 43mm x 38mm photo with white background to attach to the visa application form
- Color-copied passport (print at the office cost you SGD1 per piece)
- Photo copied Proof of residency in Singapore — EP/SP/PR or equivalent passes can be printed in BnW. If you have the latest ID that does not show the expiry date of your pass — download the SGworkpass app, scan the QR code and print the image that shows the validity information in black and white.
- Flight booking tickets
- Proof of accommodation during your visit in China
- Hotel booking reservation OR
- Tour receipt if you’re following a tour OR
- Invitation letter from a relevant entity or an individual located in China. The letter should contain detailed information of the applicant, information on the visit including dates of arrival and departure, places that will be visited, etc. and detailed information on the inviting party (with name, address, phone, official stamp and signature).

I wrote this post while queuing for the second time. Observed that 99% of the people didn’t have the color printed passport page — that’s how the Chinese make money I guess.
Another observation:
Those who work for the government office are usually hostile, I was rejected the first time for not printing the tour receipt by this staff very rudely and I think people should be warned.
Duration for my application process took abt 3 hours (Monday: 11am–2pm), minus an hour if you have all they need for the first time.
